Becoming the Woman I’m Called to Be, Even When They Can’t See It Yet.

There’s been a lot of noise in my world lately.
Noise from expectations, opinions, judgment.
Noise from the past versions of me that everyone in this house remember and maybe still expects me to be.
I’m 23 years old. I’m growing.
And like anyone in a season of change, I’m not perfect. I’m figuring out who I am.
I’m trying to balance peace and pressure.
Vision and reality.
The woman I want to be... with the girl everyone else still sees.
Lately, I’ve been told I’m not “being who I portray online.”
That maybe I’m all love, light, and boundaries on the internet but moody, frustrated, or distant at home.
And you know what? That’s true some days. I’m not ashamed of that truth.
Online, I talk about integrity. I talk about choosing yourself. I talk about becoming a woman who walks in grace, honor, and peace.
And I’m still learning to live it - offline too. That’s the hard part.
Because this version of me that I’m building
she doesn’t fully exist yet.
She’s in progress.
She’s in motion.
She gets overwhelmed when her dreams feel distant.
She gets discouraged when the world says “not yet.”And yes, she has hard days when the pressure feels louder than the peace.
Especially when I’m working jobs I don’t feel aligned with. Especially when I feel like my energy is being poured into things that take away from my calling.
And when I try to express this frustration—when I say I want to prioritize my brand, my purpose, myself—it’s seen as selfish.
But choosing yourself will look selfish to people who benefitted when you didn’t.
I’m not perfect.
I’m not always calm.
But I am trying.
And that counts.
If you’re reading this and you’re in a similar space - maybe still living with family, trying to grow in a place that’s a mirror to your past - I want you to know it’s okay to feel the pull.
To feel torn between the new you and the old room you sleep in.
To be called out for things you haven’t mastered yet.
To be misunderstood for protecting your peace.
You are not fake because you’re becoming.
You are not a fraud because you’re figuring it out.
Being a woman of grace doesn’t mean you never get tired.
Being a woman of integrity doesn’t mean you never say “I need more for myself.”
Growth is uncomfortable. Especially when it costs you familiarity.
But don’t stop becoming because someone else is uncomfortable with the boundaries you’re learning to build.
You are allowed to grow.
You are allowed to show up messy.
You are allowed to be both becoming her and still figuring out how to live like her.
I don’t know who needs this, but I needed to write it.
Because even I forget: It’s okay to not have it all together yet.
It’s okay if your environment doesn’t match your vision - yet.
And it’s okay to outgrow who they remember, for the sake of who you’re meant to be.
— Message takeaway:
You are not fake for growing.
You are not selfish for choosing yourself.
You are not inconsistent because you’re not perfect.
You're just becoming.
And becoming takes time, space, and self-trust - even when others don’t understand it yet
